I know we’ve all got busy lives but it would be great to get as many locals as possible involved, even if for a couple of hours, your help would be most welcome.

If you would like to support the event by volunteering on 19 June, please drop Maria an email or give her a call on 07752 253892 so that we could discuss your preferred areas, what hours you are able to cover and agree a suitable role for your capability and availability.

Good News from your Festival Organisers

Here is some good news, we all need something to look forward to, so how about this.

We are proud to officially announce against all odds the special Event in Gladstone Park known affectionately as Gladstonbury Festival is back for its 10th year, thanks to the brave or is that foolhardy volunteer organisers that go by the name Dollis Hill Ventures.

On June 19th, also Fathers day, the park will host a very much community focused version of this much loved festival.

This year we are not trying to raise money for any causes or promote anything other than the idea that this should be an event for everyone in our rich and diverse community. WHY? Because we all deserve it and we believe that bringing people together to share in celebration and support of their neighbourhood is a great use of energy and proper good fun.

It’s not easy to create something for everyone but we are going to try and it looks like it’s shaping up to be a very special event So Here you go, this is some of what we have for you to look forward to so far…

Music & Entertainment

The main stage is back this year with confirmed performances from the massively talented The Future Shape of Sound, The Penny Black Remedy, Ramirez, open mic set And much more talent still to be confirmed. Also just confirmed Stage2. Emerging Musicians.

Back by popular demand the astounding Mr Alexander, with his magic and juggling performances

The Tree Pirates our Parks very own fallen tree sculptors’ will give Wild, brilliant and dangerous live chainsaw sculpture demos

For our four legged friends there is the Furtastic Woofstock, the dog show which is as entertaining to watch as it is to take part. And for your thrills and pleasure, Irvin’s Funfair will be a part of the festival this year.

Food

Kilburn Cosmos BBQ and Beer Tent, Nam Thai returns with his Thai food. Fine breads etc from Crazy Baker Artisan bakery. Crazy Cow Milkshakes are back this year, Waffles & Chocolate fountain with fruit, Cakes, Jams and Tomato plants. And many more mouth-watering delights besides.

Arts, Crafts & Shopping

Treat yourselves and loved ones from our market offering Handmade glassware & Cards, Hand Painted Furniture & Decorated items, Jewellery, Gems stones, children’s lucky dip, wood sculpture pieces for sale

Kids Craft tent, sewing workshop, father day card making, and anything else they can manage.

Sports

Kilburn Cosmos running Rugby games for kids and the RFU Bus will be there too. Roller Dome return with their introduction to roller skating. Dr Bike returns so bring along your bicycle for its free health check. Real Fitness Gym with Demonstrations & circuits for kids and adults and info on diet fitness and wellbeing

Local Interest & Charities

We are also hosting a number of stalls and stands for worthy causes, Charities and local interest groups.

And best of all it’s free entry and everyone is invited! So come along and join us, bring lots of cash for the great food and drink available, crafts stalls, and so much more, what better way to spend a Sunday than enjoying fantastic day out in the park and supporting your local community at the same time.

Support Yourselves

We are still calling for people to get involved in any way they can and any ideas will be considered. So it’s a case of… Ask not what your festival can do for you but what you can do for your festival! Because with your support we hope this festival will grow from strength to strength and be a date to look forward to in every ones calendar for years to come.

Calling Voluntary community organisations, local charities, local crafts groups and local commercial organisations.

We would like a variety of stalls at this years event as they are always a very important and popular part of any community event. We’re told by visitors that they really love the stalls at Gladstonbury and in some years that there haven’t been enough!

This year we anticipate a footfall of about 5000 people. We will be sending publicity leaflets to all the houses around the park and inform local schools of our event. We also hope to get publicity in the local press & radio community websites and Brent magazine.

Please contact Antonia Armstrong for further information about stall holder bookings.
